Spooks Gotta Roan -Not For Sale-
Lou was born on April 27, 2022 at a very friendly hour exactly on her due date. She is a beautiful girl in buckskin roan splash.
Lou is a big dream of mine. I had wanted an offspring of Spooks Gotta Gun for a long time, but somehow I never had the courage to "go for it". Then it became a son of his. Spooks Gotta Sun. And the adventure began.
But there were many hurdles to overcome before Lou was finally born. We inseminated in 2020 and Ruby was in foal. But somehow the pregnancy was different. On day 270, Ruby suddenly had discharge. She was treated, but the vet could no longer tell whether the little one was still alive. 2 days later Star had an abortion.
The whole thing was very traumatic for Ruby and also for us. Although we let her say goodbye to the baby and we also had the feeling that she had said goodbye, she saw YOUR baby in every strange baby and she suffered a lot.
In the spring of the following year, we mated again, but it felt like it wouldn't work for ages. On what was virtually the last attempt, we finally got the redemptive "pregnant". Just under a month later, Ruby had a somewhat unfortunate accident. She got stuck in a tree fork. We discovered her in the summer pasture the next morning, already completely weak. It turned into a major fire department operation. The vets gave us little hope that she would remain in foal. BUT Lou survived! A few months later Ruby and Blue had a mare fight, Ruby was kicked hard and there were large hematomas on her belly and flank. This time, too, there was great fear that the baby would die. BUT Lou survived!
Every time I was worried again, she gave a very clear sign of life. Really every time!
On April 27, 2022, she finally saw the light of day. Of course, how could it be otherwise, again a little more spectacular. Lou's shoulder was stuck, but we overcame this small obstacle together. We both have a very close relationship with each other, full of blind trust and love. I am very happy about our future together!
