"Oh Captain, My Captain!" How the saying has unfortunately turned into reality.

† We had to let our beloved Captain go forever due to an accident. †

It is with infinite sadness and a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our beloved Captain Blue Sparrow, whose unique and incomparable character left a lasting impression on each of us. We will forever miss his gentle nature and unshakeable trust in people.

This extraordinary stallion was not just a horse, but a loyal friend who won the hearts of everyone with his love and charm at every moment of his life. Everyone who was lucky enough to meet him was touched by his special gentleness. His eyes had the power to give comfort and his calm nature had a soothing aura that calmed even the most restless souls.

The memories of his joyful neighing, the gentle touch of his nostrils and the majestic elegance with which he moved will linger in our minds forever. His offspring carry his extraordinary character within them, but no one can ever take the place in our hearts that he leaves behind.

It is an immeasurable hole that has been torn in our lives - a loss that can hardly be put into words. With grateful thoughts, we remember all the beautiful moments we were able to share with him. He will always remain a part of us and his love will live on in our hearts.

Farewell, dear Captain. You will never be forgotten.

For decades I had been dreaming of a stallion that would be small, strong and blue roan. In 2012, our dream finally came true and we had the chance to purchase the 6-week-old Captain Blue Sparrow. He not only has the legendary Poco Bueno on paper, but is also purely Hancock-bred on his dam's side. His sire is the legendary Bubba Black, half-brother on his father's side to Little Steel Dust from the Jaz Ranch. His dam is a typical Hancock line-bred Mr. Clyde Hancock daughter.

Captain is exactly what we imagine a real Quarter Horse to look like: Small, agile, stable foundation and a very willing and calm character. Simply a horse you can do anything with.

He is ridden by beginners and youngsters and takes good care of his rider. Captain is the reliable horse for everyone.

We have deliberately decided not to show him. He doesn't have to prove his qualities under saddle and his versatility at shows, but he does have to prove himself in everyday handling, in the field and in his herd. That's where real character and versatility are important, not in the minutes of the show.

He is also a very important part of our lives and everyday life! So I can safely say that he is one of the most loving and gentle horses ever! When handling him, in his herd and under saddle, you don't notice that he is a stallion, so completely relaxed and always anxious to do everything right. He loves children and is up for any kind of nonsense. Always motivated, always eager and always cool!

And that's exactly how we imagine a stallion to be: Always manageable by everyone, calm in every situation, a deep will-to-please and that he reliably passes on these qualities to his offspring.

Captain also passes all this on to his offspring. No matter from which mares, they are always very cool and relaxed foals with a lot of mass and a good foundation, as well as a deep calmness and people orientation.

Everyone who has met or even owns a little pirate raves about this special character, this special affinity to people. They are always devoted to people, even when they have had bad experiences, they become pro-human again.

In the meantime, Captain has also become a real therapy horse sire. As many as 4 offspring are already being used in animal-assisted therapy. And they are doing so well thanks to their calm and honest character!

Captain himself has not been shown, but his already ridden offspring have been successful in Ranch Riding, Cutting and Working Cow Horse as well as in Halter.
